Who are the Best Candidates for Brow Lifts?

When men and women decide to have a brow lift (also called a forehead lift), most want to:

  • Lift eyebrows that are either sagging or are in a low position, creating a stern or fatigued appearance
  • Smooth out deep horizontal creases across the forehead that create an aged look
  • Erase vertical frown lines between the eyebrows and sometimes across the top of the nose
  • Alter the brows’ shape, especially women

Aging isn’t the only reason people seek brow lifts. Heredity can cause sagging brows in people as young as their 20s and 30s. A good indication you would benefit from a brow lift is if you like your appearance when you gently lift up your forehead. Dr. Baker and Dr. Yee will offer their expertise during your consultation to help guide your decision. In some cases, it’s appropriate to combine a brow lift with eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) or facelift to achieve the overall desired results. If a brow lift isn’t necessary, the doctors may recommend injectables, such as BOTOX®, Dysport® & XEOMIN®.

What to Expect

Procedure Brow Lift
Description There are two types of brow lift surgeries, endoscopic and coronal. During your consultation, Dr. Baker and Dr. Yee will discuss the options and recommend what they feel is best for your anatomy.

An endoscopic brow lift is performed by making several tiny incisions, through which the surgeon will insert an endoscope – a long, thin tube with a light on the end that’s attached to a video camera. A coronal lift involves making a single incision that runs from ear-to-ear that’s concealed by your hair. In both cases, the surgeon re-positions and alters the muscle and tissue beneath the skin to eliminate forehead and brow creases.

Recovery In general, recovery from endoscopic surgery takes less time than after a traditional brow lift procedure. You can expect to return to work and normal daily activities after about a week. Dr. Baker and Dr. Yee provide patients with detailed instructions for optimal healing following surgery.
