Tracy
M. Baker, M.D. is unlike most plastic surgeons.
More than an intelligent, well-trained, and talented surgeon, Dr.
Baker is also a leader and innovator in the field. His advice is
sought after and his expertise respected by his peers. Like his
father, Dr. Tom Baker, who is also one of the most famous plastic
surgeons in the world, Dr. Baker is an artist and a visionary. He
has developed original surgical techniques that have changed the
way plastic surgery is performed. He is an advisor to surgical instrument
companies and has designed many instruments which carry his name.
A Miami native, Dr. Tracy M. Baker completed his plastic surgery training
at Harvard Medical School where he earned his board certification
in plastic surgery in 1995. From 1992 to 1993, Dr. Baker served
as Chief Resident in Plastic Surgery at Beth Israel Hospital and
the New England Deaconess Hospital of Harvard Medical School. Dr.
Baker is fully trained in general surgery and obtained his double
board certification in 1992.
Once
his own education was completed, Dr. Baker quickly rose to the forefront
of the plastic surgery field. His innovative work in breast
augmentation and liposuction techniques has set him apart. Dr. Baker
has also gone on to teach others. He is an instructor in surgery
in the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Miami School
of Medicine. His practice also maintains one of the most sought
after post-residency fellowships in aesthetic surgery in the world.
Dr. Baker has written several chapters for leading textbooks and
over a dozen articles in top aesthetic surgery journals. In addition,
he has co-authored a textbook on facial resurfacing and has been
the surgeon on seven teaching tapes from the PSEF on lasers and
liposuction.
Dr.
Tracy M. Baker has also appeared as an instructor or guest for many well-known
organizations and events. Dr. Baker has also co-hosted the world
famous Baker Gordon meeting on aesthetic surgery in Miami for the
last nine years. At each of the meetings, Dr. Baker has presented
cutting-edge techniques and has demonstrated live surgery. He has
been a guest faculty member at the most prestigious meeting dedicated
to rhinoplasty for five consecutive years. Dr. Baker was also featured
on Good Morning America and in Allure magazine.
Outside
of plastic surgery, Dr. Baker enjoys a full, active life.
He is passionate about the ocean and enjoys deep technical mixed
gas and cave diving among other specialties. In addition, Dr. Baker
is an avid fisherman and is devoted to the conservation of the ocean's
resources. He also owns and rides a Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Dr. Baker is in great shape, and he enjoys exercise and healthy
living as well.
